The Pixel 3 launcher has some changes compared to the older version (see image at the top of this article with the new Pixel 3 launcher on the right). For one thing, the pill found on the Pixel 3 launcher's app drawer once again contains the Google Assistant icon on the right side. The microphone icon was there for Android P Developer Preview 4, and disappeared in DP 5. Spacing of the rows in the launcher is a bit wider, and the way that users can choose to activate a split screen, pin the app, or get more info about it, has changed (see image at the bottom of this article).
Even before the Pixel phone became famous for its software-driven camera prowess, Google’s phones have always been chosen for their software support. Unlike other manufacturers, Google makes a commitment to push out timely updates to its Nexus and now Pixel phones. With the launch of the new Pixel 3, Google has updated its support page to let both owners and … Continue reading

Even though the Raiju Mobile works with the Razer Phone 2, the controller should also work just fine with other Android smartphones.
Crack those knuckles and get ready for a lot of PUBG.
When an unknown number is calling you, the first instinct would be to just ignore it. But what if it was an actually important call? You don’t want to answer of course since you don’t know who it is but you also want to know what they want. While there’s always voice messages, Google is
Google's experiment with smart notification responses is winding down... although this won't be the last you hear of it. The company's Area 120 team has ended the Android test after roughly 10 months, noting that the work "will live on in other Googl...
Earlier this year, Motorola released a special Android Go version of its lowest-end phone, the Moto E5 Play. It uses Google's Android Go platform, and is only available in a handful of European and Latin American countries. The phone might start to receive custom ROMs though, now that Motorola has released the kernel source code.
All previous 'smart displays' with Google Assistant are nearly identical under the hood. They all run Android Things OS (a specialized version of Android for IoT devices) on top of a standardized hardware platform (like those from MediaTek and Qualcomm). Most people assumed that Google's own smart display, the recently-announced Home Hub, would use the same software and hardware. However, the Home Hub is something entirely different.
Android manufacturers have tried everything they could think of to get their users to remain loyal. They have tried copying the iPhone, mocking iPhone users with ads, pandering to enthusiasts as they wait in line for the latest iPhone on launch day, and offering too-good-to-be-true deals as loss-leaders in hopes of bringing in a few more customers.

LG started to roll out the V20 Android 8.0 Oreo update back in July, but only in South Korea. The US variant received the update as well, and now it looks like the international model is getting the same treatment. While some LG V20 users report they have received the update OTA (over the air), in many regions is only available through the LGUP tool. The update weighs in at around 1.9GB and includes the September security patch. There ...
The Maps app has been getting a lot of updates lately, but folks using the app on Android Auto have been neglected a bit. Well, not anymore since Google Maps is now receiving a consistent update on Android Auto, which brings a new look. Apparently, this is a server-side update, so you'll have to wait for Google to make it available for you rather than looking for it yourself. Most of the changes included in the update are purely aesthetic, but they give the app a cleaner look and feel. The most obvious change is the removal of the hamburger menu, which was replaced with a standard ...
